Our History
Our history didn’t start with slavery. It’s important to know that.
Annually, we celebrate Black History Month where sometimes slavery is studied or children learn about particular people who achieved a great deal since slavery. While all that’s wonderful, it is extremely important to go back. Who were we before we were taken from our land? What was life like before slavery? When did life start?

These are very important questions that we/children should know the answers to. To not know your history is like a tree without roots. The tree wouldn’t be able to stand upright and be strong if there were no roots. Haribibi believes this to be true if you lack true knowledge of your roots.
